London Bridges

London Bridges is a project that is held each summer in London reaching out to visitors from the western half of the 10.40 window. It is sponsored by the JESUS film project and over the years has led to fruit. This summer, I am planning a supervisory trip to encourage the “national” team who comes in and leads the project. The fun part is that I will get to participate and hang out with them throughout one of the cycles. (The project takes place over the course of 2.5 months in the summer, with different teams and groups of participants joining in for each 7-10 day cycle). But the best part is that Andi will get to join me on this trip. She is very excited and is busy sending out her letters asking people to join her through prayer and giving. Corey is going to Ethiopia

Corey is planning to participate in a summer project. He is going to Ethiopia with 40 other staff kids from all over the world. I have created a separate page for info about his project. Check out this video for a glimpse of what Corey has in store.

Prayer Request Update 1

We’ve been working on support steadily. We have been encouraged by the progress we have made and all that God has provided. Before Christmas, we had gotten our goal down to $800/month. Unfortunately, since the new year has started, we have become aware of 475 in monthly pledges that we can no longer count on. So it’s two steps forward, one step back.

Our current objective is 1,111 in new monthly pledges (or the equivalent). Please continue to pray for open doors, for Cherie and the kids as I travel.

As you may know, we are currently working on our financial support. We are trusting God for the equivalent of 17 new partners pledging $100/month.

I will be traveling to Jacksonville nearly every week for a few days to meet with prospective ministry partners. Please pray for open doors, and especially energy for Cherie as I leave her with the kids while I’m traveling and for me too. I have been making the trip several weeks in a row now and I feel I am losing steam.

If you are already partnering with through prayer or giving we appreciate you very much! We couldn’t persevere without your partnership with us. It is a privilege to represent you in what God is doing in the western half of the 10/40 window. We hope that you feel you share a part of what God is doing there.

Exciting Changes

Excerpt from our most recent prayer letter

We have recently made a transition to an exciting new position within Campus Crusade. As of June 15, we are now working with the JESUS Film project as the Strategy Coordinator for 30 countries in the western part of the 10/40 window (for security reasons I can’t be more specific).

My responsibilities will include helping the national leaders in each of these countries develop and implement strategies for reaching their countries through use of the JESUS Film and related materials.

As you probably know, the JESUS film is taken from the gospel of Luke, historically and biblically depicting the life of Jesus (and has been translated into 1004 languages). It offers a straight-forward presentation of Christ’s life and how someone can know God personally. The following is a letter from a seeker in a closed country in the 10/40 window after receiving an audio version of JESUS:

“To fill my curiosity, I went to the internet and started to read about Jesus. Truly, I come from a very conservative Religious family, and have everything this world has. I have no chance in this life and I am in despair. I have never found my rest and happiness. When a friend gave me a cassette about the life of Jesus, I . . . took a chance and wrote to you. I want Peace, even a little bit. I really ask for your help . . . I am sure that this beautiful Christianity will help me . . . I look forward to getting an answer from you soon.”

We are excited about this new direction for us especially because it allows us to work directly with the staff in these 30 countries.

Andi painted this. She is trying to imitate Monet’s impressionistic style. I am mostly impressed that she made this up from her imagination and not by looking at a photo or drawing.
