Current Prayer Requests

As you may know, we are currently working on our financial support. We are trusting God for the equivalent of 17 new partners pledging $100/month.

I will be traveling to Jacksonville nearly every week for a few days to meet with prospective ministry partners. Please pray for open doors, and especially energy for Cherie as I leave her with the kids while I’m traveling and for me too. I have been making the trip several weeks in a row now and I feel I am losing steam.

If you are already partnering with through prayer or giving we appreciate you very much! We couldn’t persevere without your partnership with us. It is a privilege to represent you in what God is doing in the western half of the 10/40 window. We hope that you feel you share a part of what God is doing there.

If you are not presently giving or receiving our monthly updates, we would love to invite you to be a part of our team. You can make a gift by clicking here (or on the “partnership” tab above) to go to our partnership page. If you would like to be added to our ministry updates, click here (or on the “contact us” tab above) and fill out the contact form. Be sure to include your address and any other contact information you wish.

Exciting Changes

Excerpt from our most recent prayer letter

We have recently made a transition to an exciting new position within Campus Crusade. As of June 15, we are now working with the JESUS Film project as the Strategy Coordinator for 30 countries in the western part of the 10/40 window (for security reasons I can’t be more specific).

10/40 Window from Time Magazine

My responsibilities will include helping the national leaders in each of these countries develop and implement strategies for reaching their countries through use of the JESUS Film and related materials.

As you probably know, the JESUS film is taken from the gospel of Luke, historically and biblically depicting the life of Jesus (and has been translated into 1004 languages). It offers a straight-forward presentation of Christ’s life and how someone can know God personally. The following is a letter from a seeker in a closed country in the 10/40 window after receiving an audio version of JESUS:

“To fill my curiosity, I went to the internet and started to read about Jesus. Truly, I come from a very conservative Religious family, and have everything this world has. I have no chance in this life and I am in despair. I have never found my rest and happiness. When a friend gave me a cassette about the life of Jesus, I . . . took a chance and wrote to you. I want Peace, even a little bit. I really ask for your help . . . I am sure that this beautiful Christianity will help me . . . I look forward to getting an answer from you soon.”

We are excited about this new direction for us especially because it allows us to work directly with the staff in these 30 countries.

We had a great time when these friends came down over the 4th of July holiday. One of the blessings of being back in the U.S.

Andi - Two Flowers

Andi painted this. She is trying to imitate Monet’s impressionistic style. I am mostly impressed that she made this up from her imagination and not by looking at a photo or drawing.

Martyrs 04.18.07

Necati Aydin, Tilman Geske & Ugur Yuksel
On April 18, 2007 two Turkish believers and a German brother were martyred in Malatya Turkey. These deaths mark the first known martyrdom of Turkish converts since the founding of the Turkish Republic in 1923 .

I just heard today that Anastasia went to be with our Lord Jesus. (click here, or here for more info).

Please pray for Sergei, Lena and Katya as they mourn the loss of their daughter and little sister.

Please leave a comment if you would like to send condolences.

VT 4.16.07

vt-04-16-07.jpgIt’s hard to believe that it’s already been a month since this tragedy. 3 of the 32 victims were students involved in Campus Crusade’s university ministry at Virginia Tech.

Read the story from the witness of the first victim of the tragedy, Molly’s story, or watch her interview with ABC or with CBS.

Questions , and more questions.

Krivonos Family
Several months ago, I asked you to pray for Anastasia, the daughter of a Ukrainian staff family.

Here is an update, from our friends in Kiev:
“We are about to go to the hospice where Sergey and Lena are with Anastasia. She is on oxygen all the time right now in order to live and breath. There are only two machines of this kind in the hospice and one broke. They began looking into buying their own. She is not feeling well at all. She is not eating well and not sleeping.

She might soon be with Jesus.

Please pray for them!

Pray also for Katya, their older daughter.”

Thanks for praying. If you would like to send them a note to let them know that you are praying for them, you can leave a comment here (I will forward it to them).

If you would like to send in a gift click on this link. The gift will go to their staff account in Ukraine.
